Together to a greener future
Our vision at OnPath Energy is to power a more sustainable future through renewable energy. Formerly Banks Renewables, we provide green energy solutions for thousands of UK households, businesses and communities. We’ve been committed to powering a greener future since 2006.
3GW
More than 3GW of renewable energy generation and electricity storage in our pipeline
1.5M homes
Our sites have produced around 4,000,000 MWh (Megawatt hours) over their lifetime, enough to meet the annual electricity demand of over 1.5 million homes
252MW
We own and operate twelve onshore wind farms with 252MW of renewable electricity generation capacity
568MW
We have planning permission for renewable energy generation and flexible storage projects with a capacity of 568MW
£5k per MW
We offer a minimum of £5K per MW per year on all sites for community benefits payments
1%
Every new onshore wind site will offer shared community ownership with 1% of free equity and an offer to purchase further shares at market rates
4,000,000 MWh
Lifetime production of electricity from OnPath Energy projects
We’re helping to power the UK’s transition to 100% renewable energy and ensuring that communities, local businesses and landowners all share in the benefits.
Transitioning to green energy is vital for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to curb climate change. At OnPath, we harness onshore wind and solar energy and develop flexible battery storage power projects.
We create our projects so that everyone can embrace the benefits of renewables in the most fair and inclusive way, placing communities, local businesses and landowners at the heart of the renewables transition. We call this OnPath Together.
Our OnPath Together commitments
We place people, communities and planet at the heart of
everything we do. We believe that better projects come through
listening, collaborating and delivering with care and consideration.
This approach is something we call OnPath Together which includes the following four pillars:

Just Transition
We believe in a just transition to renewable energy which is fair and inclusive for everyone. This means placing local communities at the heart of the transition to a greener future.
It means harnessing the power of wind and solar energy to drive down energy bills for UK households and increase national energy security.

Climate & nature positive
We take a nature-positive approach to all we do. Through our renewables projects, we create solutions that help tackle climate change whilst enhancing local habitats and biodiversity.
We design for nature by including habitat management plans and biodiversity net-gain targets across all of our projects

Responsible business
Strong business ethics underpin all we do. Guided by our policy framework, we embed responsible, sustainable practices into our operations and our development pipeline.
Our robust policies govern our own standards, how we work with others, and what we expect from those we work with.

Developing Together
Cultivating a diverse, inclusive and supportive work environment is key to our approach: we aim to be a beacon of excellence in the renewable energy sector, fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and environmental stewardship. We aim to empower our team and to provide the support they need to grow and to thrive. This is what we call ‘Developing Together’.
OnPath Energy renewable energy projects
We are spearheading more than 21 wind, solar, and energy storage projects across England and Scotland. Solar and wind energy form a vital part of the UK’s path to net-zero emissions, and storing the energy generated is a further crucial step in guaranteeing a continuous supply of green energy whatever the weather. Developing renewable energy solutions since 2006
OnPath Energy, formerly known as Banks Renewables, has been dedicated to renewable energy solutions since 2006. Our expertise lies in onshore wind, solar, and flexible battery storage, and in delivering the benefits of these directly to local communities. Our first wind farm became operational in 2009. Over the years, we’ve invested millions of pounds in local businesses, created thousands of local jobs, supported thousands of local residents through community funds, and regenerated acres of land to boost local habitats and wildlife.
